PTFE High-Temp Tape 0.13mm
Heatbed tape · 1 option in stock
Heatbed tape and adhesives — Kapton, transfer tape and build-surface film. The parameters are listed in order of importance: the one at the top decides the most, and no amount of care further down makes up for getting it wrong.
This page lists 1 option, from ¥10.92.
What this part is
PTFE high-temperature tape, 0.13 mm, with a very low coefficient of friction and rated to 260 °C. Applied to build plates, heater blocks, sealing machines and slideways as a release and low-friction layer. It is not electrical tape, and it is not double-sided.

The parameters that matter
Not every number on a part like this is worth the same. These are the ones that decide whether it fits and works, and what to look at for each.
| Parameter | What to check |
|---|---|
| Thickness | 0.13 mm. Thinner tears, thicker gets in the way of heat transfer and conformity. |
| Width | By the surface. Narrow for slideways, wide rolls for build plates. |
| Temperature | 260 °C continuous. Above that it decomposes and releases toxic gas — that is a hard limit. |
How to choose, step by step
- Temperature — Kapton (polyimide) is good past 260 C. Ordinary tape is a puddle at 80 C.

You can order by part number or by selecting the parameters. The part number is fastest, but it does not always encode every parameter — the selector on this page is the authority.
6 common mistakes
- Ordinary tape does not belong on a heatbed. It melts, leaves residue and contaminates the surface for everything printed afterwards.
- Thickness changes heat transfer. Too thick and the bed reads one temperature and the surface is another.
- The surface has to be clean. Oil or dust and the tape lifts at the corner on the first warm-up.
- Do not double-layer to make it thicker. Trapped air between layers becomes a bubble under the print.
- Measure before you order. Take the old part off and measure it, or send us a photo with the caliper reading — that beats guessing from a model number every time.
- Everything here is in millimetres. Where a size is imperial, convert it: 1" = 25.4 mm, 1/4" = 6.35 mm, 3/32" = 2.38 mm.
Telling it apart from lookalikes
Against Kapton polyimide tape: Kapton is amber, takes more heat (400 °C) and insulates well, but has a higher coefficient of friction. PTFE tape is about non-stick and low friction.
Confirming it is the right part
This page has one configuration, so there is nothing to choose — which makes confirming that it is the right part more important than studying the specification. Three steps is enough:
- Measure the mating dimension — the one place this part touches something else: bore, shaft, thread, tube OD, or hex across flats. It is the number people get wrong, and half a millimetre out means it will not fit.
- Measure the outline and the mounting hole spacing. Two parts that do the same job from two makers often differ by 2–3 mm between holes: it looks like it will fit, and it goes on crooked.
- Send us two photographs: one general view showing the machine and where the part sits, and one close-up with the caliper reading in shot. If the machine has a nameplate, include it — plenty of these parts are specific to one machine, and the model number locates them faster than dimensions do.
When to replace it
You do not replace this until it fails — but "still looks usable" and "still reliable" are two different things. Any one of these and it is time:
- Tack gone, edges lifting.
- Leaves residue when removed, or shrinks and distorts once hot.
Fitting and use
Before you use it
- Check the specification against what the machine actually needs — temperature, width, thickness, diameter. Consumables fail in ways that look like machine faults.
- Store it properly. Most of these degrade in the open, and a degraded consumable is worse than none because you trust it.
Using it
- Start with a small test rather than the real job. One test piece tells you more than the datasheet.
- Keep the working area clean. Contamination is the most common cause of a consumable failing early.
Do not
- Do not substitute a general-purpose item for a temperature or chemical specific one.
- Do not judge by appearance. A consumable can look fine and have lost the property you were relying on.
Matching parts
- Heatbed and PEI sheet
- Isopropyl alcohol for cleaning
